There is something special about the Black Hills that keeps people coming back year after year, which is exactly why we are excited to bring the ICBSD Black Hills Retreat back to its roots this summer.
For many years, the retreat was held at Sylvan Lake Lodge before eventually moving to Deadwood. This year, we are returning to the heart of the Hills at the beautiful State Game Lodge in Custer State Park for the 2026 Black Hills Retreat, taking place July 23–25, 2026. If you haven’t registered yet, this is your friendly reminder to do that now!
Set among the scenic beauty and wildlife of Custer State Park, the State Game Lodge is the perfect environment to learn, recharge, and reconnect with fellow community bankers and family.
This year’s retreat will feature educational sessions focused on timely topics impacting community banks, including culture and leadership, navigating change, CRA solutions, SBA 504 loans, investments, fraud prevention, and the use of artificial intelligence in credit decisions, along with several other important industry discussions.
In addition to the educational programming, the retreat is designed to give attendees time to relax and enjoy everything the Black Hills have to offer. We encourage you to bring members of your team, emerging leaders from your bank, and your family. Some of the best conversations and connections happen outside of the bank!
Attendees and families will also have the opportunity to participate in a group buffalo safari tour and enjoy family-friendly activities throughout the area, including hiking, sightseeing, trail rides, and exploring Custer State Park.
The Black Hills Retreat has always been about more than meetings and presentations. It is an opportunity to strengthen relationships, share ideas, and spend time together in one of the most beautiful parts of South Dakota.
We look forward to welcoming you to the State Game Lodge this July!
